I now have over 700 images of red pants. I spot them and stalk them like a hunter. It doesn't matter who is wearing them-- male or female, young or old, stranger or friend. It is an obsession that may never come to an end.
Obsessions are not logical, nor are they necessarily dangerous. I was almost arrested in a Pet Smart once, but I managed to escape. Unfornately, I did not get a shot off.
This work is intended as an installation. One example is in the first two images, appearing at the Scarab Club in Detroit. Each image is a 4"x6" mounted print. The display varies, but it is always in an organized grid. Crowds often compare it to a bizarre "Where's Waldo". Most red pants have been found in the Detroit area, but some have been shot as far as Vermont, Seattle, Denver, Santa Fe, Mexico and Belize among many other locations. Red pants are everywhere.
Red Pants also has its own theme song and video, which hopefully will be posted soon.
